NOTE: April 2023 - We are moving the Foundation series into a new, larger wood chassis. Next chassis run coming in will be Walnut with thicker 1/4" acrylic panels.
Don't be fooled by the affordable price of the Foundation Buffer. Purity Audio Design has spent years developing a unique but affordable product capable of producing high end, audiophile results.
The Foundation Buffer has been designed to mate with quality solid state source components and DACs. If you are looking to pair the Foundation Buffer with a DAC but do not yet own one, we recommend the Geshelli Labs JNOG2 [J2] DAC which can also be purchased in the matching wood chassis as the Buffer. Another option is to simply purchase the Foundation DAC which is the Buffer with the [J2] DAC built in along with Bluetooth 5.0
Purity Audio Design has been designing high end buffer circuits for over a decade. The new Foundation Buffer exceeds even the popular Harmony design from years back and at half the price. The Foundation Buffer features a new, rather unique topology using 2 different circuits for each half of the 12AU7 dual triode tubes. Sporting a lively triode tube stage, the Foundation Buffer delivers powerful and dynamic sonic performance with just the right amount of tube euphonics to breath new life to your tube or solid state system. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself enjoying your music collection all over again…and again! (Don't you hate it when you see this phrase)
Designed from the ground up over the past 5 years, two triode tubes are employed with each tube dedicated to a stereo channel. Using a dual triode allows us to incorporate a unique and different topology for each half of the tube.
The Buffer has 2 sets of RCA inputs but no volume control. While it is designed to be used between source components and a preamplifier, it can still be used to feed a power amplifier but MUST be used in conjunction with a preamplifier or source component with its own volume control.
Shown here is one of 4 custom Foundation Buffers going to one customer. These are full balanced pieces.
All forthcoming Buffers will be built as seen at right but in a larger chassis.
Rear panel allows for either balanced and single ended inputs/outputs.
First run in Paudak with 2 source inputs and bypass.
