The 6922 based Foundation is a Class A tube preamplifier designed around the 6922/6DJ8 dual triode. The design goal of the Foundation preamplifier was to provide an audiophile quality preamplifier at an affordable price.
The Foundation Series products are built into a custom chassis built for Purity Audio Design with in house CNC and laser engraving
Line-level preamplifier. Three line inputs plus one built in Bluetooth input, two line outputs and one SPDIF (digital) output from wi-fi streaming board. The Bluetooth server can be run internally from its analog output or, using its digital output, can be connected to an outboardDAC of your choosing.
The Foundation line preamplifier is designed to complement most power amplifiers available including tube or solid state design.
Designed by Bill Baker in usual Purity Audio Design fashion, the Foundation Preamplifier is the perfect match for any high end system, whether biased towards analogue or digital. The Foundation is a simplest Class A design allowing the purist signal transfer.
The power supply is of usual Purity design. A high quality toroidal transformer feeds a solid state CLC (choke filtered) design. Tube filaments are powered with separate regulated supplies.
The circuit is designed in such a way as to have a maximum tube life for the 6922 tubes.
The preamplifier has more than enough output for any power amplifier, transistor or valve, and is ideal for driving long interconnect cables to remotely located power amplifiers due to its low output impedance.
